For decades now, I’ve gone to bed at night and fall asleep while watching TV. Over the years, I’ve even identified certain programs that I’d record to watch at bedtime. These programs, I refer to as “Lullaby TV.” 

You may be surprised to learn that the types of programs that most effectively lull me to sleep are stories about horrific crimes and mysterious deaths. My original slate of Lullaby TV shows included the series City Confidential. I then discovered Forensic Files. Now, I find that mainstays like Dateline, 20/20 and Law & Order also provide the calming cadence that puts me to sleep in minutes.

I now find myself in a bit of a jam as I’ve recorded so many of these programs and virtually never see the whole program to then delete it from our recorder that my Lullaby TV library occupies a disproportionate percentage of space on our video recorders. 

I guess I need to add one more pandemic project and actually try to watch some of these programs during the day so I can actually view the entire program and free up space for other entertainment options for our household.
